  • FOIL COVER PROTECTION

Immediately after tattoing, the tattoo is wrapped in a bandage made of transparent film or covered with a plaster to protect it from dirt and bacteria. The protection should be removed again after 6-8 hours to allow air to reach the injured area of the skin. If it is left for too long, it will be like a greenhouse effect: you sweat under the film unnecessarily, the skin is softened and may suffer from the quality of the tattoo underneath.

To avoid infection, always wash your hands thoroughly before you touch the tattoo. The Tattoo is still an open wound and should be treated just as carefully.

  • LOTION

The tattoo can be creamed with a suitable wound and healing ointment, preferably always when a feeling of dryness is felt and the skin begins to stretch. The tattoo should not dry out, but not soften, so apply only thinly. How often you need to apply cream depends on your skin type. At the end of the healing it is less necessary. Leave a lot of fresh air on the tattoo, which promotes wound healing.

  • HOW TO WASH

At the beginning, the tattoo should only be washed with lukewarm water. Then dab gently with household paper, never rubbing. If the redness has subsided, a pH neutral wash gel can be used.

  • BATH & SHOWER

Bathing and swimming is taboo in the first 4 weeks: the water would soften the tattoo. Running and pale spots would be the result. You should also avoid long showers during this time.

  • SPORTS & SUNBATHING

Since your immune system is in great need of healing, you should avoid exercise in the first 3 to 4 days, as well as other physical efforts. So do not start to sweat too much. Even sweat is bad for wound healing.

At least for the next 4 weeks, you should do without sunbathing, sauna or sessions in the solarium, which irritates the skin too much. For stays in the sun, either cover the tattoos with clothing or use well-made creams with UV protection.

  • SCRATCHING & SCAB

Even if it itches inhumanly, never scratch the tattoo, otherwise scars can form. Also, the scratching leads to loss of quality of the tattoo. Dabbing or lightly knocking can create some relief.

Scabbing forms on the tattooed skin a few days after stinging. At the latest when appling cream the small, colored shreds fall off when the scab begins to dissolve. This is completely normal and harmless. It is important, however, not to scrape the scab. It seals the skin temporarily. Should you scratch or peel it, you risk bleeding and painful skin tears. In addition, the scraping leads to pale or completely colorless areas within the Tattoo!

  • TATTOO CREME & CARE CREME

After healing tattoos are relatively easy to care for. Over time, however, the contrast and color intensity may decrease. By consistent care you can counteract this. Nourishing creams that not only moisturize the skin, but also protect it from environmental influences and UV rays are suitable for this.
